ACHIEVING PSYCHOLOGICAL HEALTH

psychology

The terms emotional wellness and psychological health have been used interchangeably to describe how people function in the effective and cognitive realms of their lives.  Psychological health relates to how people express their emotions, cope with stress, adversity, and success, and adapt to changes in themselves and their environment, as well as to cognitive functioning – the way people think and behave in conjunction with their emotions.  There is some debate about whether thoughts influence feelings or feelings cause us to think and behave a certain way.  However, the most accepted view is that the way we think can directly change how we feel about something by changing your perspective about a situation.  This has implications for how we can increase our self-esteem and confidence level and improve interactions with others.
